IUSSP Scientific Programme 2007-2009
The scientific programme of the Union is carried out mainly by IUSSP
Scientific Panels, which are each responsible for a programme of work
on a specific topic. These panels are established by the IUSSP Council
and consist of a small group of high level experts with an adequate regional
distribution and gender balance. The panels organize two or three activities
to consider contexts, trends, and policy implications of key population
issues in order to advance and disseminate research.
For the 2007-2009 period, 22 IUSSP scientific panels have been established
to address topics ranging across six broad themes of major scientific
and policy relevance:
