IUSSP Training Programme 2010-2013
In recent years, the IUSSP has increased its focus on capacity building and training for developing country population scientists. The IUSSP Council set up a Committee on Training to oversee these different training initiatives, which include: support for graduate students and junior demographers to attend IUSSP conferences and seminars; expert meetings on demographic training; training workshops; summer schools; a new Scientific Panel on Strengthening Demographic Training in Francophone Africa; and an initiative to develop distance-based training materials on demographic estimation techniques.
