M.A. in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (QMSS)Columbia University
Columbia University offers an interdisciplinary M.A. degree program that trains students in how to apply quantitative methods to a variety of issues in non-profit organizations, government, business, and social research. The program combines rigorous training in statistical techniques with an examination of how these methods are applied to a diverse set of problems in the social world. The program is structured for both full-time and part-time students. Past graduates have found positions in non-profits, market research, public health, finance, and government. Individuals working in these areas would also benefit from the specialized training in quantitative methods this degree provides. Applications to begin study in fall 2004 are due May 1, 2004.

CEU Summer University 2004 program information
The CEU Summer University (SUN) offers a series of high-level, research based, intensive, two and three-week courses in the social sciences and humanities. It is aiming to involve a high-level international faculty (including CEU faculty), and excellent advanced doctoral students, junior or post-doctoral researchers, teachers and professionals as participants. The summer courses are designed to provide help to develop and refine participants' research and policy agenda as well as integrate their teaching with innovative research.
Applications should be received no later than January 15, 2004. Fee-paying applications can be submitted continuously until May 17.

Call for Applications for Master's Research Training Fellowships
The Wellcome Trust offers opportunities for research training under its new Health Consequences of Population Change (HCPC) programme which focuses on the changing health outcomes resulting from demographic, socio-economic and lifestyle changes taking place in developing countries; these include migration, health issues of youth and ageing populations, fertility, urbanisation and the environment, risk behaviour shifts, and the adoption of 'developed country' lifestyles. As part of this programme, the Trust invites applications for Master's Research Training Fellowships.
