The XXV IUSSP International Population Conference gathered around 2100 researchers to discuss the great questions of population at the start of this millenium. 191 sessions and nearly 1500 poster communications were presented as part of the programme.
The plenary sessions in the evenings were the highlights of this meeting. After having followed a varied programme during the day, the participants were invited to discuss, on a more ludic mode, some of the key contemporary demographic issues such as the effectiveness of the policies on population, the possibility for couples to chose the sex of their child, the future of the population of Europe, or the repercussions of the great Conference on population and development in Cairo...
This DVD-rom contains the video recordings of the 6 plenary sessions of the Conference. The full papers and Powerpoint presentations have also been included when available. The oral and written presentations of the participants are available only in their original language.
