Bulletin N°1 (PDF) lists 132 of the expected 164 Regular Conference Sessions and invites members of the population community to submit abstracts of proposed session papers.
All interested paper authors are requested to review descriptions of sessions set by the International Organising Committee.

To organise the scientific programme, the IUSSP will be using the software developed by Dr. Germán Rodríguez for the organisation of scientific conferences. That software allows Conference participants to submit their contact information and abstracts or papers via the internet. To expedite the submission and review process, authors should submit their paper abstracts online at:
http://iussp2005.princeton.edu

Authors wishing to participate in a session can submit online both:

(a) a short abstract (up to 150 words), AND

(b) EITHER an extended abstract (2 to 4 pages in length) OR a completed paper, uploaded to the website according to the instructions provided online. Authors may modify their submission online at any time until 15 September 2004, the deadline for submission of abstracts. The submission must include for each paper abstract the full names, affiliations, addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail addresses of all co-authors.

If none of the listed sessions seems appropriate for a paper abstract, the submission can be made either to a poster session (No. 1302) as described in the next section or to the Steering Committee (No. 1301) that will decide whether additional sessions will be established.

Organisers will only make decisions on which papers to accept after the deadline for submissions of paper abstracts has passed (that is, after 15 September 2004) and will notify abstract authors shortly thereafter of the status of their submission. Authors whose submission is accepted must upload the final paper to the scientific program website by 15 June 2005.

Submission of Poster Proposals
The submission of poster proposals can also be made online at http://iussp2005.princeton.edu in a manner similar to the submission of paper proposals. All the instructions outlined above apply to the submission of poster proposals except that the poster abstract should be submitted to Session 1302.

Authors may also wish to have their paper considered for a poster session in case it is not accepted for presentation in a regular session. If so, authors must check "yes" in the appropriate area of the online Paper Abstract Submission Form. If the "yes" box is not checked, the paper will not be considered for a poster session.
