Annual Membership Fees (2011)

Full membership dues are set at 90 euro per year (approximately US$116).

  1. Reduced rates are offered to members residing in low- and middle-income countries (unless their income is equivalent to high-income countries, e.g. working for an international organization).
  2. Students can benefit from a special associate status at reduced rates, which provides access to most benefits but not to full membership.
  3. Retirees, couples, PAA members can benefit from special rates or discounts.

Membership dues are established in euros.

  1. Online payments are made in euro; conversion into other currencies varies according to exchange rates and is set by banks. 
  2. Payments by cheque can be made in euro or US dollars.
    For payment by cheque in US dollars, membership dues are set annually on January 1st by the IUSSP Council.

Reduced rates and discounts:

  1. Retired persons aged 65 years or over are eligible for a reduced fee: € 45 ($58)
  2. PAA members are eligible for a reduced fee the first year: € 45 ($58)
  3. Couples who are both members can opt to pay reduced dues for one member and receive only one hard copy of the IUSSP Bulletin.
  4. Members aged 80 years or over may request exemption from paying dues.
  5. Students providing proof of enrolment in a graduate programme may opt for a Student Associate status. This status can be maintained for at most 4 years. Student Associates are entitled to most membership benefits but they do not participate in elections for IUSSP Council and officers, do not receive a hard copy of the IUSSP Bulletin and will not receive certain announcements that are aimed at senior researchers or professionals.
    *Students residing in high-income countries pay € 22.50 ($29).

* Students residing in low- and middle-income countries are exempted from dues payment.
The list of countries by Income group is based on the World Bank’s classification: Economies are divided according to 2010 GNI per capita, calculated using the World Bank Atlas method. The IUSSP uses only 3 categories:

  1. High-income, $12,276 or more
  2. Middle-income, $3,976 - $12,275
  3. Low-income $3,975 or less.

The IUSSP will modify the list when the World Bank modifies its listing.
