All scientists and professionals working in the field of population can become members of the IUSSP.
Membership is subject to the payment of annual dues.
Access to membership benefits is immediate when payment is made online. When payment is made by cheque, membership will be activated when the cheque is processed at the IUSSP Secretariat.
New members are reviewed and their membership must be confirmed by the IUSSP Council.
New members cannot take part in IUSSP elections before confirmation.
Student Associates are entitled to most membership benefits but they do not participate in elections for IUSSP Council and officers, do not receive a hard copy of the IUSSP Bulletin and will not receive certain announcements that are aimed at senior researchers or professionals.
Students need to upload annually proof of enrolment in a graduate programme.
This document needs to be checked and approved by the IUSSP Membership Officer thus access to benefits is not instantaneous.
Student Associate status can be maintained for at most 4 years.
