Election of the IUSSP Council

A new Vice-President, Secretary General / Treasurer and Council are elected every four years. The last election, for the mandate 2006-2009, took place in 2005. The Committee on Nominations met in January 2009 and produced an initial list of candidates.

Member-initiated Nominations.
Members can also propose additional candidates as per Article 11 of the IUSSP Constitution (see link below) which describes the election procedures and the steps members should follow if they wish to propose candidates for the 2009 elections.

Alternative nominations must be received at the IUSSP Secretariat no later than 15 June 2009. They must clearly indicate the office or Council seat, including which slate (regional or at large). Alternative nominations must be seconded by at least fifteen Union mbmers of a least five different citizenships and accompanied by the written acceptance of the nominated person and completed Biographical Information Form.

Please send all nomination materials to the IUSSP Executive Director, Mary Ellen Zuppan, either by post or electronically, in one email entitled "Alternative Nomination" (followed by the name of the candidate). Attached support letters can be scanned or attached as Word or PDF files, with electronic signatures.
