Professional Summary:

Fatima Juárez is a professor and researcher at El Colegio de Mexico (CEDUA). She obtained her Ph.D. in demography at the University of London (LSHTM). Dr. Juarez has worked for international institutions and European academic centers developing research on sexual and reproductive health (SRH). She has been awarded national and international distinctions, including member of the Mexico National System of Researchers, distinguished research fellow at the Guttmacher Institute, Chair of the Scientific Committee on Adolescent Life Course in Developing Countries of the IUSSP and member of the IUSSP Council. Her research has centered on the design and analysis of surveys of SRH in less developed countries and methodological and substantive issues of SRH (fertility/contraception, estimation of clandestine abortion and risk perception of HIV/AIDS among others) with special focus on adolescent issues. She is the author or co-author of more than 100 publications.
