The International Organization for Migration (IOM), Regional Office in San José, jointly with the Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN) of the Columbia School of Climate at Columbia University, the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, and the Platform on Disaster Displacement (PDD) invites you to the "Regional Forum on Evidence and Data on Migration, Environment and Climate Change in Central America and Mexico", which will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., Costa Rica time (GMT-6).

  • The forum will consist of brief presentations by academic experts in the field, who will share their knowledge and recent research findings on drought, rainfall variability, agriculture and human mobility in the region.
  • The objective of the forum is to discuss gaps and opportunities to advance a research agenda and statistical work on data and climate change that will allow the development of evidence-based responses in the future.
  • The event is open to the public and consists of two sessions with experts followed by spaces for questions and comments.
