In partnership with UNECA and Open Data Watch, Data2X is thrilled to announce an upcoming webinar on October 14th from 9–10:30 EST that we believe will be of interest to you and your respective organizations. Below is more information about the webinar, as well as social media messaging that we would love for you to share on your channels.

About the webinar:

Women are at the forefront of the COVID-19 crisis, which is especially true in Africa where 70% of nurses are women and the sectors hardest hit by the pandemic often employ a majority of women. Africa’s national statistical offices (NSO) are highly affected by the crisis making it even more challenging to answer demands for more and better disaggregated data. Pan African organizations and partners need to work together to deliver the rapid and wide-ranging support that is required for NSOs to innovate and adapt quickly to the situation. This webinar will bring together experts and partners in the gender data field to discuss some actions that are already in place relating to gender data, the power of networking, partnership, advocacy, and raising the profile of gender data in time of COVID-19. The discussions will also focus on meeting data user’s needs and trust in provision of data services as well as data sharing, specifically the role and challenges of opening and sharing data and how to better use existing gender data when reliable data are needed quickly to make critical decisions. Register for the webinar here.
