Description

This panel’s general goal is to inform policy and programmatic responses to migration by bringing scientific theory and evidence to the analysis of current and future trends and patterns of international migration. The Panel’s agenda will build upon the achievements of the previous IUSSP Scientific Panel on International Migration: Strengthening the Knowledge Base for Policy (2018-2023), but will also extend the activities to sustain, through documentation, research and training scholarship on international migration and population movements.

Programme of activities

Three activities will be undertaken by this new Panel:

  1. Preparation of working documents to continue the advancement of a world migration survey;
  2. Completion and development of training materials for international migration analysis and research;
  3. Following a consultative process, preparation of an agenda of priorities, opportunities and strategies for international migration theory and empirical research for the near future.
