Professional Summary:

Georges Guiella holds a PhD in demography from the University of Montreal (Canada). He is currently Professor at the Institut Supérieur des Sciences de la Population of the University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso and also Deputy Director and Head of Academic and Pedagogical Affairs of this institute.

 

He has served as Principal Investigator in numerous reproductive health research projects in Burkina Faso, including family planning projects conducted in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University, Path, Guttmacher Institute, etc. Dr. Guiella is currently the Principal Investigator of the family planning research platform called Performance Monitoring for Action (PMA) in collaboration with the Gates Institute of Johns Hopkins University and member of the Scientific Panel for the IUSSP Project on Family Planning and Urban Development in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
